Job summary

Avenga is seeking a Senior Front-end Engineer in Argentina (Buenos Aires area) with React.js and Node.js experience to lead a strategic financial-services project. You’ll work across the full SDLC, from discovery to deployment and production support, contributing to cloud-native solutions and architectural decisions in an agile setting.

Join a multidisciplinary squad of engineers, product owners, and UX specialists, with in-person collaboration expected occasionally in Argentina.

Qualifications

At the core of the role

In Argentina, we are looking for a Senior Front-end (React.js with Node.js experience) Engineer to lead a strategic financial-services project. You will work across the entire software development lifecycle, from technical discovery and solution design to implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.

You will build modern cloud-native solutions, collaborate with product and technology stakeholders, and influence architectural decisions in an agile, innovation-driven environment.

As part of the team, you will join a multidisciplinary squad composed of Software Engineers, Technical Leads, Product Owners, and UX specialists.

This role is open to candidates in Argentina, preferably Buenos Aires, for occasional in-person collaboration.

Core skills you’ll bring

• 5+ years of commercial experience with React.js and modern frontend practices.
• Hands-on Node.js (v18+) experience, preferably with Express.js and/or NestJS.
• Solid understanding of microservices and/or event-driven architectures.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases.
• Practical experience deploying and managing applications in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Serverless Framework or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Strong knowledge of GitLab, including branching strategies, feature development workflows, and hotfix processes.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Datadog and Opsgenie.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Native or fluent Spanish and Intermediate English proficiency.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with AWS cloud services, including AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, EventBridge, DynamoDB.
• Familiarity with TypeScript.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and the full software development lifecycle.
• Ability to mentor teammates and share technical knowledge across teams.

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications with a primary focus on creating exceptional frontend experiences using React.js.
• Build and enhance Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) services using Node.js, Express.js, and NestJS.
• Create intuitive, engaging, and user-centric interfaces with a strong emphasis on usability and performance.
• Develop, integrate, and optimize RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Write unit tests and ensure software quality through code reviews and best engineering practices.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance production applications while implementing new features and improvements.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Technical Leads, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Build prototypes and proofs of concept during discovery and project scoping phases.
• Share knowledge, lessons learned, and technical discoveries to strengthen team capabilities and technology practices.
• Align technical initiatives with team objectives, OKRs, and broader business goals.
