Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer (Field Manager) in San Juan, Argentina. You will manage environmental permits, regulatory compliance, and interface with engineering disciplines to ensure design aligns with field execution and timelines.

The role requires extensive site construction experience, electrical engineering background, and fluency in English and Spanish. You will coordinate with project management and the design team to advance mining/infrastructure projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires a university degree in Electrical Engineering and professional registration.
• Extensive site construction experience with mining or heavy industry is required.
• Strong knowledge of environmental and regulatory frameworks relevant to mining/EPC projects.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in English and Spanish communication for multinational teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain permits matrices with competent bodies and deadlines.
• Provide environmental and regulatory compliance support across the project.
• Coordinate with design engineers to translate design into compliant field practices.
• Lead interface between engineering disciplines and construction management.
• Manage and monitor project quality program with construction engineering involvement.
