Qualifications

• Requires a university degree in Civil Engineering or related field with professional registration, 5–8 years in environmental management and permits.
• Graduate degree in environmental management, environmental impact assessment or environmental law is desirable.
• Experience in EPC/EPCM environments and managing interfaces between disciplines is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the permits matrix with deadlines and identify competent bodies.
• Prepare, review and submit the Environmental Impact Report and updates with supporting documentation.
• Manage associated sectoral permits (water use, effluent, emissions, hazardous waste, soil movement, vegetation, transport of hazardous substances).
• Maintain technical dialogue with provincial and national authorities, respond to observations and audits.
• Provide engineering disciplines with environmental constraints and verify their incorporation into design and schedule.
• Prepare progress reports on permit status, risks and mitigation actions.
