AgileEngine is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to operate and improve a Kubernetes-based API platform across public and private clouds, with emphasis on automation, tooling, and incident management.

You will maintain observability, manage incidents end-to-end, onboard new clients, and build automation to cut manual effort while ensuring capacity scales with demand. This is a 100% remote, full-time contractor role with USD-based compensation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Kubernetes in production (4+ years).
• Strong Linux and CLI fundamentals.
• Experience with a public cloud provider (Azure or AWS).
• Upper-intermediate English level.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the Kubernetes-based platform across public and private clouds.
• Work with observability tooling to keep alerts actionable with runbooks and docs.
• Manage incidents end-to-end: response, RCA, post-incident reviews.
• Onboard and support new clients on the platform.
• Build automation and diagnostic tooling to reduce manual effort.
• Identify and deliver process improvements.
• Support software/hardware upgrades and keep components up to date.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to operate and improve a Kubernetes-based API platform across public and private cloud environments, including automation, tooling, and incident management.

MUST HAVES

• 4+ years of hands‑on experience operating Kubernetes in production, ideally with Service Mesh.
• Strong Linux and command line fundamentals.
• Confident debugging and troubleshooting complex systems, from the application layer through to lower-level infrastructure.
• Experience working with a public cloud provider, preferably Azure or AWS.
• Upper-intermediate English level.

NICE TO HAVES

• Working knowledge of Grafana, Prometheus, Loki and Tempo is a plus.
• Scripting or coding in Python or Java is a strong plus.
• CI/CD, infrastructure as code such as Helm or Terraform is a plus.
• Financial services background is not required.
