Job summary

Musimundo is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop and maintain robust data pipelines across legacy DB2 environments and modern cloud platforms. The role emphasizes deep database knowledge, programming expertise in Python/Java, and strong data quality practices.

You will design batch and streaming data flows, optimize queries and procedures, and ensure reliable data integration across ERP systems and AWS services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Data Engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with IBM DB2 (LUW and/or DB2 for i).
• Proven ability to extract and integrate data from legacy DB2 environments.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java.
• Advanced SQL, stored procedures, tuning and performance optimization.
• Experience designing, developing and supporting production ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Knowledge of data modeling, data quality and integration patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain batch and event-driven data pipelines.
• Optimize IBM DB2 queries, procedures, indexes and extraction processes.
• Build integrations between DB2, enterprise apps, ERP systems and AWS services.
• Implement ETL/ELT processes and data quality controls.
• Monitor production pipelines, troubleshoot incidents and ensure data reliability.
• Design scalable data architectures and support legacy-to-cloud modernization.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, product and operations teams.
