Job summary

Fluor is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 10 years of experience in substation and line construction to join our team. You will assist on construction-related issues, interpret design documents, and support project supervision across complex mining projects.

The role emphasizes high voltage expertise, strong communication with design engineers, and active participation in quality programs. Candidates should be able to manage details, meet deadlines, and adapt to site conditions.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineer degree required.
• Minimum 10 years of work experience in substation and line construction.
• High Voltage experience in mining projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist craftsmen, foremen, and project supervision with regard to construction-related issues identified on drawings
• Provide technical interpretation of design documents in support of construction managers, superintendents, and contractors and provides specific expertise for problem solving activities
• Establish and maintain effective communication between the company and the design engineer to ensure the timely flow of design documents and information
• Coordinate the preparation and implementation of the project quality program when the quality function is the responsibility of the construction engineering department; report the status of functions performed by the construction engineering department to project management
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

• Electrical engineer degree and ten (10) years of work-related experience in substation and Line construction.
• Proven High Voltage experience in at least 2 mining projects
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

• Assess and escalate issues to the Construction Engineering Manager, as necessary
