Job summary

Fluor is seeking an Electrical engineer with extensive HV experience to support construction of substation and line projects. You will interpret design documents and coordinate with construction management to ensure quality and timely delivery.

The role requires a 10-year background in related fields, with strong communication and oversight capabilities to liaise between design engineers, supervisors, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineer degree required.
• Ten years of work experience in substation and line construction.
• HV experience in mining projects.
• Ability to interpret design documents for construction managers.

Responsibilities

• Assist craftsmen, foremen, and supervision with construction issues identified on drawings.
• Provide technical interpretation of design documents for project teams and contractors.
• Establish and maintain communication between the company and the design engineer to ensure timely flow of documents.
• Coordinate preparation and implementation of the project quality program when quality is the responsibility of the construction engineering department; report status to project management.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

• Assist craftsmen, foremen, and project supervision with regard to construction-related issues identified on drawings
• Provide technical interpretation of design documents in support of construction managers, superintendents, and contractors and provides specific expertise for problem solving activities
• Establish and maintain effective communication between the company and the design engineer to ensure the timely flow of design documents and information
• Coordinate the preparation and implementation of the project quality program when the quality function is the responsibility of the construction engineering department; report the status of functions performed by the construction engineering department to project management
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

• Electrical engineer degree and ten (10) years of work-related experience in substation and Line construction.
• Proven High Voltage experience in at least 2 mining projects
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Other Job Requirements

• Assess and escalate issues to the Construction Engineering Manager, as necessary
