Job summary

AgileEngine in Mendoza, Argentina is seeking a Database Administrator to manage, secure, and tune high-availability production databases, working closely with engineering teams. This is a hands-on DBA role focused on database administration, performance, security, and reliability—not Data Engineering.

The mandatory requirements include 3–4 years of hands-on DBA experience, Microsoft SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL, PowerShell or Python, Terraform, Confluent Kafka, AWS RDS and Aurora,

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of hands-on DBA experience.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AWS RDS and Aurora.
• Programming experience with PowerShell or Python.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Experience with Kafka (Confluent Kafka).
• Experience with performance tuning and high-availability setups.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning.
• Upper-intermediate English level.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high availability of production database systems and ensure strong performance.
• Plan and execute disaster recovery with zero data loss.
• Keep databases secure, including access control and security protocols.
• Analyze and tune database performance and diagnose issues.
• Collaborate with engineers on design reviews and support.
• Operate hands-on in a highly technical environment managing data systems.
• Stay composed under pressure in demanding situations.
