Job summary

Bluelight is seeking a Business Analyst to translate client needs into actionable requirements across discovery, process mapping, and user stories. You’ll bridge clients, product, and engineering, ensuring what’s built solves real business problems.

You’ll run workshops, document current and future states, write clear acceptance criteria in Jira, collaborate with UI/UX in Figma, and help scope and estimate new projects while maintaining a relentless focus on quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role on software projects.
• Strong experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria in an agile/Scrum environment.
• Proven ability to run discovery sessions and turn ambiguous input into structured requirements.
• Comfort with process mapping and data modeling at a business level (flows, entities, relationships, rules).
• Hands-on experience with Jira; familiarity with Figma and collaborative docs.
• Excellent written and spoken English; comfortable leading client meetings with U.S. stakeholders.
• Enough technical literacy to have productive conversations with engineers about APIs, integrations, databases, and system constraints.

Responsibilities

• Lead stakeholder interviews and workshops to understand goals, workflows, and pain points.
• Document current-state and future-state processes, rules, data definitions, and edge cases.
• Support project sizing by breaking scope into epics and stories.
• Identify assumptions, risks, dependencies, and open questions early and drive resolution.
• Write clear user stories with testable acceptance criteria in Jira.
• Partner with Product Manager to prioritize and groom the backlog ahead of sprint.
• Work with UI/UX design in Figma to align flows with requirements.
• Answer engineering questions during sprint and keep requirements current.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing and support sprint demos.
• Keep requirements docs organized in Google Drive with rationale.
• Ensure compliance, security, and audit requirements are explicit.
• Act as trusted contact for clients on scope and requirements questions.
• Translate between business and technical audiences clearly.
• Surface scope changes early and explain tradeoffs.
