GlobalLogic is seeking a Senior Backend Java Software Engineer with AWS experience and Advanced English in Buenos Aires. You will lead backend services, design RESTful APIs, and optimize databases in a hybrid work setup.

Required +10 years in professional software development, expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, and AWS. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, mentorship, and a focus on code quality are expected.

• 10+ years in professional software development with Java and AWS.
• Expert-level Core Java with Spring Boot and JPA.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and databases (MySQL).
• English proficiency and ability to work in a hybrid Argentina setting.

Responsabilidades

• End-to-end backend development using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design and optimize MySQL schemas and data persistence.
• Build secure, scalable RESTful APIs and integrate systems.
• Deploy and manage applications in AWS; enforce cloud best practices.
• Own features from discovery to deployment; resolve complex bugs.
• Maintain code quality with tests and participate in peer reviews.
• Mentor teammates and uphold engineering standards.

Fluent in English (Must Have)
Hybrid work model: candidates are expected to work on-site two days per week from our offices in Buenos Aires (Nuñez/Vicente Lopez)

Experience: +10 years in Professional Software Development.
Core Java: Expert-level Java 25.
Frameworks: Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA.
APIs: RESTful API Design & Development.
Database: MySQL, CrudRepository, SQL optimization.
Cloud: AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, or similar core services).
Autonomy: Proven ability to lead medium-complexity developments without constant supervision.

Nice To have:

• Tools: Gradle or Maven for build automation.
• Testing: JUnit 5, Mockito, or Testcontainers.
• DevOps: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins).
• Architecture: Knowledge of Microservices architecture and Design Patterns.
• Agile: Experience working in Scrum or Kanban environments.

Job responsibilities

• End-to-End Development: Design and implement robust backend services using Java25and Spring Boot 3.
• Data Management: Architect and optimize database schemas using MySQL and handle data persistence through JPA/CrudRepository.
• System Integration: Build and maintain secure, scalable RESTful APIs.
• Cloud Operations: Deploy and manage applications within the AWS ecosystem, ensuring best practices in cloud architecture.
• Technical Autonomy: Take full ownership of features from discovery to deployment, resolving technical debt and complex bugs independently.
• Code Quality: Advocate for clean code, performance tuning, and comprehensive unit testing to ensure high system reliability.
• Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and participate in peer code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
