Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Software Engineer III to join our Unified Detection team, building and deploying large-scale threat detection services. Join a team that uses cutting-edge technology to detect and analyze threats from cyber actors, delivering robust detection components across email, cloud, and SaaS products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems (or equivalent practical experience).
• 4+ years of experience developing software with proficiency in Python or Golang.
• Experience with distributed systems, cloud environments (AWS, Azure or similar), and containerised workloads (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience with observability or monitoring tools (Grafana, Kibana, or similar), preferred.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, secure coding foundations, and automated testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to moderately complex features and components, ensuring your work integrates into the larger detection system.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code – leave the codebase better than you found it.
• Begin owning smaller features or components, ensuring quality through testing.

Our detection services are foundation components leveraged across Proofpoint’s cybersecurity product offerings to protect customers from threats delivered through email, social media, and SaaS applications.
