Techunting, a fast-growing U.S.-based B2B tech company, seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to own backend services end-to-end. You will build real-time feeds, ranking, search, and APIs in Go and Python, collaborating with founders, product, and other engineers to ship production code quickly.

You will work in a remote-friendly startup, emphasizing reliability, observability, and pragmatic architecture while mentoring junior engineers and delivering scalable backend systems for partner integrations.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with 3+ years on backend systems.
• Production experience in Go or Python; strong in both is a plus.
• Experience designing/operating APIs, services, data pipelines, and workers.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, reliability, performance, and debugging.
• Cloud experience across GCP/AWS/Azure with containerized deployments.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain production backend services in Go and Python for feeds, ranking, search, ingestion, events, tooling, and APIs.
• Own backend features end-to-end: design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, iteration.
• Improve event-driven data flows, queues, workers, and data pipelines for real-time experiences.
• Enhance performance, reliability, observability, and cost efficiency of core systems.
• Work with SQL/NoSQL, caches, queues, and analytics systems to support scalable features.
• Collaborate with partners and internal systems across sports betting, media, and commerce workflows.
• Participate in code reviews, planning, incident response, and architecture discussions.
• Communicate effectively in an async, remote-first environment with strong time-zone overlap.
• Mentor junior engineers while staying hands-on.

We are a fast-growing U.S.-based B2B technology company building the infrastructure layer for modern social, video, search, and commerce experiences in sports betting, casino, and adjacent entertainment markets.

Our platform helps partners embed personalized short-form video feeds, creator- and user-generated content, search and discovery, content-driven journeys, and social engagement layers. Under the hood, the platform depends on high-throughput data pipelines, event-driven workflows, ranking systems, partner integrations, and scalable backend services.

We are expanding the engineering team and looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who can own meaningful backend systems end-to-end, ship production code quickly, and help us scale the platform with strong technical judgment. We love builders! People that love to tinker, love to build things!

Overall Purpose of the Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be a hands-on owner of backend services that power ingestion, ranking, feeds, search, real-time events, creator tooling, and partner-facing APIs. This is not a management role and is not a purely architecture role. We are looking for a strong senior individual contributor who can turn ambiguous product and technical problems into reliable, scalable production systems.

You will work closely with the founders, product, design, and other engineers to build systems that support fast product iteration while maintaining reliability, observability, and clean engineering practices.

Requirements

Duties And Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production backend services in Go and Python for feeds, ranking, search, content ingestion, user events, creator tooling, and partner integrations.
• Own backend features end-to-end: technical design, API design, data modeling, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and iteration after launch.
• Build and improve event-driven data flows, queues, workers, APIs, and data pipelines that support real-time product experiences.
• Improve performance, reliability, observability, and cost efficiency across critical backend systems.
• Work with SQL, NoSQL/key-value stores, caches, cloud storage, message queues, and analytics/event systems to support scalable product features.
• Integrate with partner APIs and internal systems across sports betting, casino, media, and commerce workflows.
• Participate in code reviews, technical planning, incident response, and architectural discussions.
• Collaborate effectively in an async-first remote environment with clear written communication and strong U.S. time-zone overlap.
• Mentor junior or mid-level engineers when needed, while remaining primarily focused on hands-on execution.

Must-Have Skills / Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 3+ years building production backend systems.
• Strong production experience in Go or Python, with willingness to work in both languages. Strong Go experience is a major plus.
• Experience designing, building, and operating APIs, backend services, workers, and data pipelines in production environments.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, reliability trade-offs, performance optimization, and production debugging.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure such as GCP, AWS, or Azure, including containerized services and modern deployment workflows.
• Practical experience with SQL databases, NoSQL/key-value stores, queues/streaming systems, caches, and API design patterns such as REST or gRPC.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-moving startup environment without heavy day-to-day supervision.
• Strong English communication skills, especially written communication for technical decisions, async updates, and code reviews.
• Comfortable working with ambiguity and translating product requirements into pragmatic technical plans.

Advantageous / Nice-to-Have Experience

• Experience with both Go and Python in production.
• Experience with GCP services such as Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, or similar services on AWS/Azure.
• Experience with search, ranking, personalization, recommendation systems, analytics infrastructure, or ML-adjacent data systems.
• Experience with Typesense, Meilisearch, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, or similar search infrastructure.
• Experience with video/media pipelines, ffmpeg, short-form video products, creator platforms, social feeds, or live/interactive media.
• Experience in B2B SaaS, gaming, sports betting, casino, commerce, fintech, or other regulated/partner-integrated environments.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes, Terraform, observability tooling, or incident management.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
