DaCodes is seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead the modernization of legacy ETL workloads into scalable Azure-based lakehouse architectures. You will own cloud design decisions, guide a small team, and ensure governance, security, and auditable decisions throughout the project.

You will analyze production workloads, validate automated analyses, and approve implementation plans before automation. Remote in LATAM with English for technical collaboration.

Formación

• Senior-level experience in data engineering and data architecture with direct ownership of cloud architecture design decisions.
• Led the modernization of legacy ETL workloads into lakehouse architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark in production and PySpark for data processing and transformation.
• Strong knowledge of Delta Lake, Medallion architecture, lakehouse patterns, and data warehouse concepts.
• Experience with Azure cloud data platforms.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL Server, T-SQL, and SSIS, including investigating ETL logic.
• Experience with data modeling, governance, and data lineage.
• Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git-based collaboration, CI/CD, and pull request reviews.
• Experience providing technical leadership to engineers; formal people management not required.
• Ability to make sound decisions with incomplete information and document reasoning.
• Strong communication to explain design decisions and coordinate implementation.
• English proficiency sufficient for technical discussions and documentation.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze legacy production workloads: Reverse engineer Alteryx workflows, SSIS packages, and SQL Server jobs to understand behavior and dependencies.
• Validate automated analysis against source artifacts, resolving discrepancies and assumptions.
• Own cloud architecture decisions: Define target lakehouse architecture and ingestion patterns with scalable strategies.
• Define governance and security: data modeling, lineage, access, and Unity Catalog policies.
• Approve implementation plans: review design plans before authorizing automated code generation.
• Resolve technical escalations: act as final authority for exceptions in multi-agent workflow.
• Guide the engineering team: provide technical direction and unblock engineers on multiple projects.
• Approve integrations: review PRs targeting protected branches like preprod and main.
• Maintain decision traceability: document assumptions, alternatives, trade-offs, and approvals.
