Wripple's financial services client is looking for a Senior Art Director – Marketing Campaigns in Buenos Aires, Argentina to join their team for a 40-hour/week, 12-month contract with the potential to convert to full-time for the right fit.
This is an opportunity to lead the development of integrated creative campaigns and own the creative idea from brief through execution for a leading global financial brand.
We’re looking for a senior conceptual thinker, campaign builder, and creative leader — not simply a highly experienced designer. The ideal candidate knows how to take a complex business or marketing challenge, identify the creative opportunity within it, and develop an original, strategically grounded campaign idea that can come to life across channels.
Working closely with Creative Directors, copywriters, designers, and marketing partners, the Senior Art Director will lead the development of strategic, audience-relevant creative ideas and translate them into compelling visual concepts and integrated campaign systems across digital, social, web, video, print, experiential, and other brand experiences.
What You'll Do
You’ll take a senior role in the creative process, leading work from initial brief and concept development through final execution:
- Lead from the brief. Dig into the business and marketing challenge, audience insights, objectives, and strategy to identify opportunities for compelling creative solutions.
- Develop the big idea. Partner closely with copywriters and other creatives to originate distinctive campaign concepts that solve the brief — rather than simply executing against an established visual direction.
- Define the visual concept. Establish how the campaign idea comes to life through art direction, imagery, typography, composition, motion, and other elements of the brand experience.
- Build integrated campaign systems. Create cohesive visual languages and creative frameworks that can scale across channels, audiences, and formats while maintaining the integrity of the core idea.
- Lead the work through execution. Art direct and oversee creative across digital, social, web, video, print, presentations, experiential, and other marketing touchpoints.
- Provide creative direction and guidance to designers and other creative team members, helping elevate the quality, consistency, and conceptual strength of the work.
- Present and sell creative concepts to Creative Directors, marketing partners, and senior stakeholders, clearly articulating the strategic thinking and rationale behind the work.
- Partner closely with copywriters to ensure visual and verbal storytelling work together as one cohesive campaign idea.
- Navigate stakeholder feedback, determine how best to incorporate it, and protect the strength of the creative idea through rounds of iteration.
- Push the boundaries of the brand thoughtfully, identifying opportunities to evolve the creative while remaining relevant to the audience and aligned with business objectives.
- Develop a strong understanding of the company, its audiences, and global financial markets in order to translate complex subjects into clear, engaging, and memorable creative.
- Manage and prioritize multiple high‑visibility projects simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of creative craft and attention to detail.
- Leverage AI and emerging creative tools throughout the creative process to accelerate exploration, expand creative possibilities, and improve efficiency.
What We're Looking For
First and foremost, your portfolio should demonstrate senior-level conceptual campaign thinking and creative ownership. We want to see how you have taken business or marketing challenges and turned them into compelling creative ideas — and how you led those ideas from concept through integrated execution.
The strongest candidates will demonstrate:
- 5–8+ years of experience in Art Direction, including experience operating at a Senior Art Director level, within a creative agency, in‑house creative team, or similar environment.
- A portfolio featuring concept‑led, integrated marketing campaigns, rather than primarily standalone design, production, or executional work.
- A proven ability to originate and develop creative concepts from a business/marketing brief, strategy, and audience insight, ideally in partnership with copywriters.
- Experience owning creative work from initial concept through final execution and maintaining the integrity of the idea throughout the process.
- The ability to clearly articulate the thinking behind the work — including the challenge, insight, creative idea, visual direction, and how the concept extended across channels.
- Strong visual conceptualization skills and the ability to establish distinctive, sophisticated art direction for major campaigns and brand initiatives.
- Experience creating integrated campaign systems that translate effectively across digital, social, web, video, print, experiential, and other channels.
- Experience providing creative direction, feedback, and mentorship to designers or more junior creatives.
- A strong understanding of storytelling and how imagery, typography, motion, copy, and design work together to communicate a powerful idea.
- Exceptional typography, visual hierarchy, composition, and overall design craft.
- Confidence presenting, defending, and selling creative ideas to senior internal stakeholders and clients.
- The ability to balance creative ambition with business objectives, audience needs, brand standards, timelines, and stakeholder feedback.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
- Experience incorporating AI tools into creative ideation, concept development, or execution.
- The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of high‑profile assignments while thriving in a highly collaborative creative environment.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects in a fast‑moving environment.
- Fluency in English, including the ability to confidently present and defend creative concepts and rationale in English.
- Financial services experience is a plus, but exceptional conceptual campaign experience is more important.
A portfolio is required for consideration.
We are specifically looking for work that demonstrates senior‑level, idea‑driven art direction and integrated campaign development. Your portfolio should show examples where you played a meaningful role in originating the creative concept — ideally from a brief, business challenge, or strategic insight — and then led the visual direction and development of that idea across multiple marketing touchpoints.
We want to understand what you personally contributed to the work, particularly your role in developing the concept, defining the art direction, collaborating with copywriters and other creatives, and guiding the campaign through execution.
This role is best suited for a Senior Art Director who can lead the idea, elevate the work, and carry a campaign from brief through execution — not just design the assets.
