Job summary

Kraken is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join the Finance Data Engineering & Analytics team. You will turn complex finance data into reliable pipelines, models and automated reconciliations, leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate development and ensure outputs are tested and auditable.

You will collaborate with Data Engineers, Finance and Platform Accounting to improve reporting, build data workflows, dashboards and near-real-time insights, and own end-to-end data pipelines across

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data analytics and data management within financial services or a regulated industry.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, including production code.
• Experience with Git, merge requests, code reviews and testing/documentation.
• Hands-on experience building pipelines and models using dbt, Spark, Airflow.
• Direct experience with finance data such as reconciliations, subledgers, cost basis or month-end close.
• Ownership of end-to-end pipelines and reliability improvements as systems evolve.
• Judgment and autonomy to lead complex work and be accountable for production outcomes.
• Excellent communication across Engineering and Finance, explaining complex technical issues and financial implications.

Responsibilities

• Improve reporting and decision-making with Data Engineers, Finance and Platform Accounting.
• Translate business needs into practical data and automation solutions for Finance.
• Build and maintain automated data preparation, reconciliations, and reporting workflows with controls and monitoring.
• Create intuitive dashboards and visualizations for stakeholders to understand performance and investigate issues.
• Resolve finance data issues and reconciliation breaks with cross-team collaboration.
• Build scalable pipelines to collect, transform, and curate data from internal and external sources.
• Support the design and rollout of a trusted finance data lake with data quality checks.
• Improve data timeliness to enable near-real-time insights where valuable.
• Evaluate new technologies, including AI-assisted automation, for Finance needs.
