Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer (Field Manager) in San Juan, Argentina, to lead environmental permitting and regulatory compliance for large-scale mining/infrastructure projects. You will translate environmental requirements into engineering criteria, coordinate with authorities, and oversee permit-driven scheduling and reporting.

The role requires 5–10 years in environmental management, strong knowledge of regulations, Spanish and English proficiency, and experience with EPC/EPCM

Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant field with professional registration.
• 5–8 years of professional practice in environmental management and permits; 3+ years in mining, energy or infrastructure in Argentina.
• Graduate degree in environmental management or related area desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the project permits matrix with deadlines and responsible bodies.
• Prepare, review and submit Environmental Impact Report and related documentation to authorities.
• Manage permits for water use, effluent, emissions, hazardous waste, soil movement and vegetation.
• Maintain dialogue with provincial and national authorities; report status and mitigations.
• Ensure environmental constraints are incorporated into design and scheduling.
