EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to help modernize insurance technology through Agentic AI solutions. You will join a global team creating intelligent products that streamline complex insurance processes, allowing brokers to devote more time to strategic decisions and customer relationships.

You will design AI pipelines, build enterprise-grade AI systems with LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, and observability.

Formación

• 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or a closely related technical discipline
• Strong programming capability in Python and TypeScript for developing and maintaining AI-enabled applications
• Proven experience taking AI products from initial concept and prototyping through successful production deployment
• Practical expertise working with machine learning techniques, models, and Large Language Models
• Familiarity with modern engineering workflows, including CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments
• Well-developed analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical and business problems
• Effective communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical topics to non-technical business audiences
• English proficiency at B2 level or above, both written and spoken

Responsabilidades

• Assess insurance broking processes to uncover valuable opportunities for AI-driven automation and improvement
• Architect, build, and release enterprise-ready AI products that simplify complex insurance-related workflows
• Develop intelligent applications using Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, document intelligence, information extraction, classification, and agentic solution patterns
• Partner with brokers, underwriters, and operational stakeholders to translate real business needs into scalable technical solutions
• Lead AI initiatives throughout the full delivery cycle, from early discovery and proof of concept through production rollout, monitoring, and iteration
• Establish comprehensive evaluation practices for AI systems, covering quality testing, performance tracking, observability, and hallucination identification
• Promote fast-paced experimentation by applying current AI engineering tools, methods, and delivery practices
• Use automation to increase productivity, shorten processing timelines, and improve operational outcomes across the business
• Support the growth of other engineers through mentoring and by championing dependable AI engineering standards
• Investigate emerging AI capabilities and apply relevant innovations to challenges within the insurance sector

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience in software engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or a closely related technical discipline
• Strong programming capability in Python and TypeScript for developing and maintaining AI-enabled applications
• Proven experience taking AI products from initial concept and prototyping through successful production deployment

• Familiarity with modern engineering workflows, including continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines as well as containerized deployments
• Well-developed analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical and business problems
• Effective communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical topics to non-technical business audiences
• English proficiency at B2 level or above, both written and spoken

Nice to have

• Experience with reinsurance or insurance underwriting operations and the workflows that support these functions
• Knowledge of the insurance industry, including its business processes, systems, and regulatory considerations
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code practices, particularly for implementing secure and repeatable cloud environments
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability solutions for tracking the reliability, performance, and behavior of production systems
• Technical leadership experience, including guiding engineering decisions and supporting teams in delivering high-quality solutions
