Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer (Field Manager) for San Juan, Argentina. The role focuses on obtaining, maintaining, and monitoring environmental and sectoral permits to enable project execution.

You will ensure design and field activities comply with regulations and client environmental standards. You will bridge engineering and regulatory bodies, anticipate restrictions, and maintain a critical permits route aligned with the project schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires a university degree in Electrical Engineering and 5–8 years of related experience in environmental management and permits (lead roles in mining/energy)
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulatory requirements and permit processes
• Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish; proficient in technical writing and documentation

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the environmental permits matrix and submission deadlines
• Prepare and review Environmental Impact Reports and supporting documentation
• Manage sectoral permits (water use, emissions, waste, etc.) and coordinate with authorities
• Maintain technical dialogue with provincial/national agencies and address observations
• Translate regulatory requirements into design criteria and monitor permit routes against project schedule
