BairesDev is seeking a Senior AI & Data Governance Analyst to build and operate an enterprise data catalog and drive AI governance. You will blend governance execution with strategy, partnering with senior leadership to ensure responsible AI practices across the organization.

The role emphasizes data quality, lineage, and metadata management, with hands-on work and cross-functional collaboration in a fully remote setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data governance, catalog ops, metadata, quality and lineage.
• Knowledge of AI governance frameworks, especially NIST RMF.
• Power BI proficiency for governance metrics and reporting.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview and Copilot governance.
• Background in business operations and change management.
• Strong consultative communication with senior stakeholders.
• Upper-intermediate English proficiency.

Senior AI & Data Governance Analyst at BairesDev

In this role, you'll build and operate the data catalog that underpins an enterprise-wide AI readiness effort. This is a hands-on position that blends data governance execution with AI governance strategy, working closely with a senior director who wants a genuine thought partner, not just an execution resource. This is your opportunity to shape how governance, metrics, and responsible AI practices come together across the organization.

What You'll Do

• Build out and maintain the enterprise data catalog, including metadata management, data quality, and lineage.
• Apply governance policies consistently across data assets.
• Align AI governance practices with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and internal policy.
• Build governance metrics and AI readiness score reporting and dashboards in Power BI.
• Support governance around Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Copilot.
• Contribute to change management, communication, and governance council administration.
• Engage consultatively with stakeholders, including senior leadership, bringing a point of view rather than only executing instructions.

What We Are Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in data governance, including data catalog operations, metadata management, data quality, and lineage.
• Knowledge of AI governance frameworks, particularly the NIST AI Risk Management Framework.
• Proficiency in Power BI for governance metrics and reporting.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Copilot governance.
• Background in business operations and change management within a governance context.
• Strong consultative communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
• Upper-intermediate proficiency in English.

Nice To Have

• Experience with Atlan or a comparable modern data catalog (Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Purview).
• Background facilitating data governance councils or committees.
• Exposure to nonprofit, healthcare, or other regulated-sector governance.
• Proficiency in SQL to validate catalog data directly.
• Familiarity with AI policy and responsible AI practice, including model inventory and risk classification.
• Awareness of Databricks.
