Job summary

Western Union is seeking an accounting professional to prepare and analyze financial statements and GAAP-compliant reports. You will perform reconciliations, support month-end close, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across LATAM to ensure accurate product accounting.

The role emphasizes audit support, process improvements, and regional accounting activities in Panama and Chile. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in accounting/finance with 2+ years in accounting, strong Excel skills,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 1–2+ years of accounting, financial analysis, reconciliations, or audit support.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statement prep.
• Experience with external auditors and cross-functional stakeholders is desirable.
• Advanced Excel; familiarity with automation/AI tools is a plus.
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency in a regional, multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and GAAP-compliant reports.
• Perform account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, and investigate variances.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities with timely financial information.
• Analyze results to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
• Partner with Settlement and Finance to ensure proper accounting treatment of products and transactions.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure policy compliance.
• Contribute to regional accounting activities across LATAM (Panama, Chile, etc.).
• Drive automation and process improvements to improve efficiency and reporting quality.
