Job summary

Intuition Machines, Inc. is seeking a backend software engineer to design, build, and maintain automation tools supporting SOC operations.

This fully remote role offers the chance to work with a distributed team and modern tech like microservices, Python, and containerization. You will collaborate with security analysts and engineers to streamline workflows, apply OWASP security principles, and improve observability, reliability, and scalability across systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in backend software development.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with microservice-based architectures.
• Deep understanding of programming best practices, design patterns, and testing methodologies.
• Experience writing secure code and applying OWASP security principles.
• Solid experience working with SQL databases.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical teams.

What you will do:

• Design, build, and maintain automation tools and services that support core SOC operations, managing the full lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Streamline workflows and improve security efficiency using modern technologies such as microservices, Kubernetes, Python, and message queues.
• Collaborate closely with security analysts and engineers to solve complex automation and operational challenges.
• Research emerging security and automation standards, identifying new technologies that strengthen our defenses and processes.
• Contribute to system reliability, observability, and scalability through thoughtful automation and process design.

What we are looking for:

• 5+ years of experience in backend software development.

• Experience participating in bug bounty programs or contributing to security research (for example, public CVEs).
• Understanding of browser and network security, modern web architecture, and web automation frameworks.
• Working knowledge of Linux environments.
