Deep.BI is a remote-first consultancy delivering expert database engineering for mission-critical systems. You will be the core L3/L4 YugabyteDB specialist, tackling complex production challenges, optimizing performance, and shaping HA/DR designs across distributed SQL deployments.

Join a global team spanning US, Brazil, Europe, India, and the Philippines, with a focus on deep technical excellence, DevOps collaboration, and OSS contributions in a flexible contract structure.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience operating YugabyteDB clusters in production.
• Proven experience with query optimization, indexing, shard design, and throughput tuning.
• Solid knowledge of distributed systems concepts (Raft, replication, failover).
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery setups.
• Strong Linux, networking, and SQL skills (PostgreSQL compatibility).
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsabilités

• Advanced troubleshooting (L3/L4): Diagnose and resolve complex YugabyteDB issues.
• Performance optimization: Tune queries, schemas, sharding, indexing, and configs.
• Architecture support: Shape data models, PK/sharding design, HA/DR approaches.
• Incident resolution under 24/7 SLA: On-call rotations and rapid RCAs.
• CVE patching: Apply and test security patches.
• Knowledge sharing: Document playbooks and mentor juniors.
• Optional: Deployments with DevOps (Kubernetes, cloud, automation).
• Collaborate with developers on OSS bug fixes or features.
