Job summary

Deep.BI is seeking a StarRocks Expert Database Engineer to serve as the core L3/L4 technical authority for production OLAP clusters. You will dive into query optimization, ingestion pipelines, schema design, and HA/DR configurations to keep large-scale analytics fast, reliable, and scalable.

While focused on database internals, you should bring broader DevOps/SRE awareness and be comfortable collaborating with Solution Architects and developers. The role is remote with US/Latin America overlap.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting StarRocks clusters in production.
• Proven experience with query optimization, indexing, schema design, and ingestion pipelines.
• Solid knowledge of distributed systems concepts (consistency, replication, failover, scaling).
• Hands-on experience with high availability and disaster recovery setups.
• Comfort with Linux systems, networking basics and SQL.
• Ability to analyze logs, metrics, and configs under pressure (incident scenarios).
• Strong English language communication skills, able to explain technical decisions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Advanced troubleshooting (L3/L4): Diagnose and resolve complex issues in StarRocks and OLAP clusters.
• Performance optimization: Tune queries, schemas, ingestion flows and configs for high load.
• Architecture & design support: Help shape data models, indexing strategies, and HA/DR approaches.
• Incident resolution under 24/7 SLA: On-call rotations and rapid root cause analysis.
• CVE patching: Apply, validate, and test security patches in customer environments.
• Knowledge sharing: Document best practices and mentor junior engineers.
• Optional: DevOps support with Kubernetes, cloud, automation; collaborate on OSS bug fixes.
