Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to operate and improve a Kubernetes-based API platform across public and private cloud environments, including automation and incident management. The ideal candidate has hands-on Kubernetes production experience, strong Linux fundamentals, and English communication skills.

You will collaborate with teams to maintain uptime, implement observability, onboard new clients, and drive automation to scale the platform while adhering to best practices

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production.
• Strong Linux and command line fundamentals.
• Experience with a public cloud provider, preferably Azure or AWS.
• Upper-intermediate English communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the Kubernetes-based platform across public and private cloud environments.
• Work with observability tooling to ensure alerts are actionable with up-to-date runbooks and docs.
• Manage incidents end-to-end, including incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
• Onboard and support new clients onto the platform.
• Build automation and diagnostic tooling to reduce manual effort and improve performance.
• Identify and deliver process improvements across the platform.
• Support software and hardware upgrades and keep components up to date.
• Proactively manage capacity so the platform scales with demand.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to operate and improve a Kubernetes-based API platform across public and private cloud environments, including automation, tooling, and incident management.

MUST HAVES

• 4+ years of hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production , ideally with Service Mesh.
• Strong Linux and command line fundamentals .
• Confident debugging and troubleshooting complex systems, from the application layer through to lower-level infrastructure.
• Experience working with a public cloud provider, preferably Azure or AWS .
• Upper-intermediate English level.
• Hands-on experience of at least 4 years operating Kubernetes in production, ideally with Service Mesh.

NICE TO HAVES

• Working knowledge of Grafana, Prometheus, Loki and Tempo is a plus.
• Scripting or coding in Python or Java is a strong plus.
• CI/CD, infrastructure as code such as Helm or Terraform is a plus.
• Financial services background is not required.
