Newsela is seeking a remote Senior Software Engineer contractor to work across Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Costa Rica. You’ll develop production web applications using TypeScript, React, and Python, owning features end-to-end and delivering high-quality code with AI-assisted practices.

You’ll collaborate with engineering, product management, and design to shape deliverables, ensure observability, and support post-release stability in a senior, fully remote role.

Formación

• 5+ years building production web applications with full-stack capabilities (React/TypeScript frontend and a typed or Python backend).
• Experience owning ambiguous problems end-to-end and shipping with measurable impact.
• Active code-review history and use of AI coding agents with judgment on where they help or hurt.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver high-quality features on time with end-to-end ownership.
• Build AI-integrated features with sound engineering practices.
• Partner with Engineering, Product Management and Design to refine work into valuable deliverables.
• Maintain observability, reliability and support production releases.
