Job summary

Bechtel is establishing a new Buenos Aires Corporate Office and seeks a Supply Chain Manager to lead end-to-end supply chain for mining projects in Argentina, with emphasis on supplier ecosystem, strategic sourcing, and project delivery.

This senior, external-facing role requires strong negotiation, market intelligence, and cross-functional collaboration with project controls, engineering, HSE, and construction.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in supply chain leadership roles, ideally in project-based environments.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong knowledge of supplier markets in Argentina.
• Proven ability to build supplier networks and develop strategic partnerships.
• Experience establishing or scaling supply chain functions in new markets or greenfield environments.
• Fluency in Spanish and English preferred.
• Experience working with Project Controls, Engineering, HSE, Quality and Construction.

Responsibilities

• Manage project Contracts and Procurement personnel in all operations for a project.
• Participate with the project management team in defining and developing the scope of work, and in preparing and coordinating supply chain plans, procedures, schedules, estimates, forecasts, and budgets.
• Ensure supply chain operations comply with corporate, business unit and project requirements.
• Engage with mining contractors, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), logistics providers, and local suppliers.
• Drive sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives, ensure effective procurement and contract execution, and enable project delivery through proactive supplier relationship management and collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Oversee all Contracts and Procurement activities for a project, including home and field supply chain activities.
• Lead and develop the Supply Chain team and implement the procurement and sub/contract plans while leveraging value and efficiencies and ensuring the monitoring of safety, quality, cost, and performance.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the project team and suppliers and contractors.

Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Manager role will be responsible for establishing and leading the end‑to‑end supply chain function for a newly established Buenos Aires Corporate Office. This role is highly strategic and externally focused, requiring strong supplier engagement, market intelligence, and network development to build a competitive and resilient local supplier base. The manager will lead the establishment and execution of the supply chain function for mining operations and projects in Argentina, with a primary focus on developing a reliable supplier ecosystem, driving strategic sourcing initiatives, and supporting project delivery in a complex and dynamic mining environment, while aligning supply chain strategies with project timelines, operational needs, and regional business objectives.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Proficient in the use of management tools (Oracle, Primavera, Aconex, EBS, Unifier, ETA, PowerBi, etc.).

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree (or international equivalent) and 13‑15 years of relevant experience or 17‑19 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in Project Contracts & Procurement and Supply Management such as in mining, infrastructure, energy, oil & gas.
• Experience and thorough understanding of Supply Chain operations at both office and jobsite locations.
• Low‑Cost Country Sourcing experience beneficial.
