Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
Swell is seeking a Marketing Coordinator for a founder-led, regulated DTC brand. You will build outbound outreach to retailers and manage campaigns across email, SMS, retention, referrals, and search/content, coordinating with sales and field teams to drive growth in UK market channels.
You will implement AI-driven visuals and automation, connecting tools through APIs and leveraging Claude Code to streamline workflows while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Our client is a small, founder‑led consumer brand based in Austin, TX, that makes a regulated nicotine product (tobacco‑free pouches) and sells it direct‑to‑consumer in the UK. Because Meta, Google, and TikTok all prohibit nicotine advertising, there is no ad budget this company can spend to buy growth — every channel that’s left (search, owned email and SMS, subscription retention, referral, retail and trade, athlete and podcast partnerships, field sampling) has to be built and wired together by hand. That constraint is the whole shape of this job.

This is a hands‑on marketing generalist role for someone who likes building things, not just planning them. Part of your week goes to using AI tools like Claude Code to connect systems, clean up lists, and automate repetitive work. The rest goes to running campaigns with the sales, field, and partnerships teams. You’ll work directly with the two founders, with plenty of ownership and visibility.
Success looks like:
An outreach process for retail and partners that mostly runs on its own
A field team that has what it needs and gets better each round
Search, email, retention, and referral programs driving steady growth
Numbers the whole team can trust
This is a regulated product, so a few rules are fixed. No health, quit‑smoking, or performance claims. All marketing stays 18+ and UK‑only. No paid social or paid search. If you enjoy creative problem‑solving within clear boundaries, you’ll like it here.
Build and run outreach to retailers and partners: finding the right contacts, writing the emails, and tracking what works
Support the field team with target lists, routes, one‑pagers, and follow‑up emails after visits
Own email and SMS, subscription retention (win‑back and pause offers), referral programs, and search/content
Create marketing visuals with AI tools, using the brand’s existing look and feel
Automate recurring manual tasks so nobody has to do them by hand
Track results from the company’s own order and subscription data, and flag anything that looks off
Hands‑on experience using Claude Code (or a similar AI coding tool) to build something real that’s still in use today. This is the one must‑have; most of the rest can be learned on the job
3+ years in marketing. Many great fits started in a coordinator role and taught themselves to pull data or set up tools instead of waiting on someone else
Experience running cold email outreach yourself, using a tool like Apollo plus an email sequencing tool
Comfort working with spreadsheets and data; SQL is a plus, and getting there with help is fine
Some scripting in Python or JavaScript, or experience directing AI to write it for you
Familiarity with connecting tools through APIs
A good marketing eye and clear, simple writing
Experience with tools like Apollo, n8n, SQL databases, SEO tools, or AI image tools
Marketing experience in a regulated industry (alcohol, supplements, pharma, gambling
