Job summary

Arionkoder is hiring a Freelance Data Engineer to build the structured core of a governed data foundation on Databricks. You will reconcile business entities across systems, enforce provenance, and implement access controls with APIs and MCP tools, working autonomously with stakeholders.

You’ll collaborate with a small client team including an AI engineer and data quality lead, applying SQL, Python, and Spark skills to deliver accurate, governed data for AI agents and applications.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional data engineering, building production-grade pipelines and data models.
• 3+ years hands-on with Databricks in production, including Unity Catalog.
• Expert SQL and Python: writes, debugs, optimizes, and refactors pipelines unaided.
• Strong data modeling with provenance and lineage from the start.
• Data quality and testing discipline with CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Reconciling data across systems: entity resolution or master data.
• Incremental and change-driven processing against freshness targets.
• Practical data governance with access control in production.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production-grade data pipelines on Databricks.
• Define and enforce data provenance, lineage, and certified tables.
• Develop and expose data APIs and MCP tools for client teams.
• Collaborate with solution architect, AI engineer, and data quality lead to deliver governance-ready data.
• Ensure data quality through tests, expectations, and CI/CD for data.
