Job summary

Mindrift is seeking a freelance Mechanical CFD Engineer to train and evaluate AI agents on expert-level fluid simulations. You will take CAD geometry, set up and run simulations, build reference solutions, and craft Python checks for agent results.

Ideal candidates have CFD experience with OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent/CFX or STAR-CCM+, plus meshing and rigorous verification/validation practices. Remote work is supported with performance-based bonuses.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (PhD preferred but not required).
• Several years of hands-on CFD with OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent/CFX or STAR-CCM+, including meshing.
• Solid verification and validation practice: mesh-independence studies, and validation against experiment or benchmarks.
• Comfortable with Python and GitHub.
• English at B2 level or above.
• Nice to have: aerospace, automotive, offshore or turbomachinery background; multiphase or particle-laden flow experience.

Responsibilities

• Help train and evaluate AI agents on expert-level fluid simulation tasks.
• Take CAD geometry, set up and run simulations, build verified reference solutions, and write Python checks for the agent's results.
• Work fully remote on own schedule and contribute to a global platform.
