Qualifications

Looking for an experienced Principal .NET Engineer (C# | Azure | AI-assisted development) to join the Prosigliere team.

Description

We are looking for a Principal .NET Engineer to set the technical direction of a key product area for one of our US-based clients, a software product company. You will shape the technical roadmap, reduce architectural complexity, and raise the engineering bar across several teams. You will also help lead how the organization uses agentic AI tools, from how AI-generated code gets reviewed to how systems are designed so agents can contribute safely.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for a major product area or platform capability, in line with business goals and customer needs.
• Identify architectural debt and lead the work to remove it, improving system reliability and maintainability.
• Work with Product and Engineering leadership to assess whether multi-quarter roadmaps are feasible, and give technical recommendations.
• Raise engineering standards across multiple teams through code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
• Design and deliver scalable, high-quality solutions with cross-functional teams across countries.
• Define how the team reviews AI-generated code and supervises AI agents, and adapt the architecture so codebases are ready for agent contributions.
• Evaluate and help standardize agentic development tools, weighing speed gains against cost, security, and quality risks.
• Identify and drive adoption of current .NET capabilities (architecture patterns, coding practices, DevOps processes) that improve the product and the development lifecycle.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on backend development.
• Strong experience building and scaling production backend services with .NET and C#.
• Strong knowledge of software design patterns, architecture principles, and methodologies, and the ability to apply them to complex problems.
• Experience with relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server preferred), including data modeling and query optimization.
• Experience with Azure, including deployment, scaling, and infrastructure management.

AI & Agentic Development

• Experience designing, building, and integrating AI/ML-powered features, including third-party LLM services.
• Working knowledge of LLM behavior: prompt design, output evaluation, and handling non-deterministic results in a product.
• Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools or AI pair-programming assistants (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) in real production workflows, with sound judgment on when to trust and when to verify AI output.
• Experience adapting review processes, documentation, or architecture to support AI-agent contributions to a codebase.

Nice to Have

• Experience migrating applications from .NET Framework to modern .NET (ideally .NET 10).
• Razor, Blazor, and/or Angular.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools.
• Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).

About the Project

• Backend: mainly .NET/C#, recently migrated from .NET Framework to .NET 10, with some services in Java.
• Frontend: Razor.
• Data: Microsoft SQL Server.
• AI tooling: AI coding assistants are in active use across Engineering.

Profile Requirements

• Advanced English (C1), spoken and written. Comfortable leading technical discussions with US-based leadership and stakeholders.
• Strong ownership and ability to drive decisions with no one telling you what to do next, in a remote environment.
• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
