Amentum is seeking a Marine Electrician to support AUTEC on Andros Island, Bahamas. The role involves planned maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical equipment on AUTEC vessels and deck support gear. A Secret U.S.

Government Clearance is required, with U.S. citizenship needed to obtain it. The position is shore-based; you will operate from the Marine Electric Shop, manage records and materials, supervise an electrical helper, and ensure compliance with electrical standards while

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus trade school graduate or 10 years military/commercial experience aboard ship in the capacity of Chief Electrician or Shipyard Electrician.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience on ships.
• Experience with ship-based power generation and distribution, marine electronics such as radar and navigation controls.
• Knowledge of 3-phase power systems including generation and distribution.
• Familiarity with 480 VAC 3-phase, 220 & 115 VAC, and DC power systems on AUTEC vessels.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair diesel generators and electrical systems.
• Must reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.
• U.S. Secret Clearance eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties of Marine Electrician.
• Installs new cabling aboard ship.
• Trouble shoots and repairs electrical systems including power distribution and lighting.
• Maintains records, orders, and material receipts from Marine Electric Shop.
• Maintains shop inventory and spares on site.
• Supervises one indigenous electrical helper.
• Assigns tasks and ensures timely completion per electrical standards.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
