Job summary

MarketFully Group is hiring a Localization Engineer to keep our translation tools up and running for a global client base. You will analyze content, implement pattern-based translations with regex and reserved terms, and collaborate with translators and product teams to improve content handling.

The role is fully remote, and we provide comprehensive training on our proprietary platform to help you learn quickly and contribute meaningfully from day one.

Qualifications

• You can read and understand HTML and prefer a curious, quick-learning mindset.
• Experience with in-house tools is welcome and training will be provided.
• You can explain technical issues clearly to non-technical colleagues.

The role

MotionPoint translates websites for some of the world's biggest brands, and our technology is what makes that fast and cost-effective. As a Localization Engineer, you'll be the link between our translation team and our platform engineering team, making sure the tools behind every translated website run smoothly.

You’ll be working on a range of clients' websites. That means exposure to a huge range of sites and technologies, working out how each one is built and how our technology can translate it more efficiently.

What You'll Do

• Keep our in-house translation tools up, available and working properly for the translation team
• Review content coming into the translation queue and spot patterns of repetition, such as product names in a checkout message or lists of materials
• Use regular expressions and our "reserved terms" technology to translate repeated content once and reuse it, so our customers pay less. This is one of the things that sets us apart from our competitors
• Work with translation account managers to improve how content is handled, and train them on what's happening technically in the tool
• Turn feedback from the translation team into clear requests for our product team

What We're Looking For

You need not be a developer. This is a technical role where curiosity and the ability to learn matter more than knowing a particular tool.

• You can read and understand HTML
• You pick up new systems quickly. All our tools are built in-house, so everyone learns them from scratch, and we'll train you.
• You can explain technical issues in simple terms, both to translation colleagues and to the product team
• You have an analytical mind and enjoy spotting patterns

Nice to have

• Experience in translation or localization, for example as a translation account manager, localization specialist or translator with a technical interest
• JavaScript
• Regular expressions (regex)
• Experience with any CAT or translation management tool
