Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Full Stack Tech Lead to guide a squad and build backend services using Java and Spring Boot, with an Angular frontend. You will lead architecture modernization toward a domain-driven structure and ensure RESTful API excellence.

The role requires leadership experience, strong backend expertise, and an upper-intermediate English level. You will collaborate across disciplines to deliver scalable software solutions for Fortune 500 brands and innovative startups.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a squad or tech team and mentoring junior developers.
• Strong proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) and Angular (at least 6 years).
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and streaming/messaging systems.
• Solid understanding of OOAD, software design patterns, and architectural patterns.
• Deep knowledge of Domain-Driven Design and bounded contexts.
• Extensive experience building and consuming RESTful services with standard API protocols.
• Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and JPA/Hibernate.
• Passion for server-side logic, performance, and scalable architecture.
• Upper-intermediate English proficiency.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Full Stack Tech Lead to guide a squad and build backend services with Java and Spring Boot, supported by an Angular frontend.

MUST HAVES

• Leadership Experience: Proven experience as a Tech Lead or Squad Lead, with a track record of motivating teams and mentoring junior developers.
• Core Stack: Advanced proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) and Angular, with at least 6 years of experience.
• Streaming & Messaging: Hands-on experience with Kafka.
• Design Fundamentals: A strong grasp of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/OOD), software design patterns, and architectural pattern awareness.
• Domain-Driven Design: Deep understanding and practical experience with strong domain bounded contexts.
• API Knowledge: Deep experience building and consuming RESTful services with a clear understanding of standard API protocols.
• Database Skills: Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and JPA/Hibernate.
• The "Backend-Heavy" Mindset: A passion for server-side logic, performance, and architecture, coupled with good engineering practices.
• Upper-intermediate English level.

NICE TO HAVES

• Highly desirable: Experience working with spec-driven development or related (AI-Driven Software Development Life Cycle).
• Domain Experience: Previous experience in the Loyalty or Fintech sectors.
• Cloud & Infra: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and containerization (Docker).
• DevOps: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Refactoring: Experience refactoring legacy structures into modern, domain-driven architectures.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Technical Leadership & Execution: Act as the Squad Lead, driving the team to execute on deliverables while maintaining high engineering standards.
• Core Development: Spend a significant portion of your time designing and implementing robust backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Frontend Integration: Build and maintain the supporting Angular frontend, ensuring a seamless connection between the UI and your backend logic.
• Modernizing Architecture: Lead the transition from traditional database-centric designs toward a domain-driven structure (DDD), ensuring strong domain bounded contexts.
• API Excellence: Architect RESTful APIs that prioritize proper HTTP verbs and clean, scalable patterns over legacy RPC styles.
