Job summary

Photon Brothers seeks a Solar Service Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair residential solar PV systems, battery backups, EV chargers, and related electrical equipment. The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and field-service expertise in the San Luis Obispo area.

You will perform inspections, repairs, and system upgrades, document steps, and collaborate with the service and operations teams to ensure high-quality, on-time service while meeting NEC and local code

Qualifications

• REQUIRED: Solar experience (2+ years) in installation or service.
• Residential electrical systems knowledge and NEC awareness.
• Valid driver's license with clean record and ability to travel to sites.
• Comfortable climbing ladders and working on roofs.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot residential solar PV systems, battery storage, EV chargers, and related components.
• Perform corrective maintenance, warranty repairs, inspections, and service upgrades.
• Respond to service calls and customer concerns regarding system performance.
• Document troubleshooting steps and service notes within internal software.
• Coordinate with Service and Operations teams to prioritize requests.
• Ensure all work complies with NEC and local code requirements.
• Maintain service vehicle inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Assist in onboarding and training of new Technicians.
