Job summary

Chevron is seeking a Chemical Specialist for the El Trapial Field in Neuquén, Argentina. This full-time role develops, implements, and optimizes chemical treatment and corrosion control programs to support safe, reliable operations.

You will collaborate with operations, laboratories, and service providers to improve performance and reduce costs, while adhering to safety and process standards. The position follows a 7x7 rotation with camp housing during rotations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in chemical treatment and corrosion control strategies, including monitoring, inspection, and implementation activities.
• Experience interpreting chemical treatment monitoring data and recommending changes to corrosion control strategies.
• Intermediate level of English.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and implement chemical treatment and corrosion control strategies, including chemical treatment, corrosion monitoring and inspection activities, as well as the preparation and delivery of reports and the identification and assessment of significant trends.
• Provide technical assessment and interpretation of chemical treatment monitoring data and recommend changes to corrosion criticality analyses and monitoring/inspection programs.
• Serve as SME for water, oil, and gas treatment facilities and chemical treatment services to improve OE, production, reliability, efficiency, and cost performance.
• Follow up on contractor performance through daily field visits and maintain ongoing interaction with Operations & Maintenance, Laboratory, and chemical service provider personnel.
• Lead OE execution in the field, with a strong focus on safety, ensuring activities comply with process safety and HSE standards.
• Prepare forecasts and perform monthly tracking of operating costs and facility improvements related to chemical products.
• Propose and lead medium- and long-term optimization initiatives focused on reliability, integrity, operational efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Identify, evaluate, and propose new technologies.
