Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a safely oriented, mechanically inclined Chemical Operator for our El Dorado, AR team. You will monitor and document unit operations, use loaders to move ash boxes, hook up tankers, and troubleshoot loss of flow for pneumatics and other pumps while complying with safety and environmental requirements.

The union wage is $31.07/hr. Responsibilities include operating PLC controlled equipment, loading/unloading tank farm trucks, completing paperwork, maintaining inventory

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED (required)
• Mechanically inclined
• Able to troubleshoot various pumps
• Flow control knowledge is an asset
• 1+ years in plant experience preferred
• 6 months operating heavy loader/skid steer/bobcat or similar equipment
• Must be safety oriented
• Team player who can communicate with various groups
• Able to work rotating shifts including days and nights
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights

Responsibilities

• Performs basic operations including opening and inspecting drums, tank farm truck loading/unloading, waste processing with facility compliance and PLC controlled equipment and filter press operations.
• Meets/exceeds safety, compliance & production goals.
• Provides training and/or mentorship to other Facility Technicians.
• Completes and submits all paperwork for tracking tanks and product.
• Ensures proper inventory warehousing, inventory scanning and use of WinWeb/ inventory program.
• Operates a forklift, or heavy loader when necessary.
• Performs daily safety checks prior to operating.
• Ensures area-specific permit compliance standards.
• Maintains a clean work environment.

Job description

• Responsible for performing and documenting daily safety check prior to operating.
• Ensures, understands and has ownership for area specific permit required compliance standards.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.
