The role involves managing the onboard medical clinic, conducting safety drills, and collaborating with the ship's crew to ensure passenger safety. The ideal candidate holds a Registered Nurse or Paramedic certification with at least 3 years of emergency medicine experience.

Formación

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in emergency medicine.

Overview

Provide emergency medical care to guests and crew members in accordance with company protocols and medical guidelines.

• Maintain and manage the onboard medical clinic, including inventory and restocking of medical supplies


• Conduct regular safety drills and trainings for crew members on emergency medical procedures


• Collaborate with the ship's captain and other crew members to ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers


• Monitor and track any medical incidents and report them to the appropriate authorities


• Communicate with onshore medical facilities for any necessary consultations or evacuations


• Maintain accurate medical records for all patients treated onboard


• Assist with any other duties as assigned by the ship's captain or medical director

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Registered Nurse or Paramedic


• Minimum of 3 years of experience in emergency medicine


• Experience in remote or wilderness medicine preferred


• Previous experience working on a cruise ship or in a similar expedition setting is a plus


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in emergency situations


• Excellent organizational and time management skills


• Ability to work well in a team environment


• Willingness to work long hours and be on call as needed
