Job summary

Bechtel in Argentina seeks a senior environmental permits lead to manage the obtaining, maintaining and monitoring of regulatory permits for a major project. You will translate legal requirements into design criteria and coordinate with engineering, regulatory bodies and contractors to align with schedule and environmental standards.

The role requires handling complex permit routes, ensuring no regulatory detentions, and delivering high-quality information to authorities and project management

Qualifications

• Has university degree in Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Natural Resources, Geological or Biological Sciences with professional registration.
• Experience in environmental management and permits on mining, energy or infrastructure projects in Argentina is preferred.
• Spanish and English technical proficiency to read international standards and participate in multinational teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage permits matrix with deadlines and responsible bodies.
• Prepare and submit Environmental Impact Report and updates with documentation for mining authority.
• Oversee associated sectoral permits (water use, emissions, hazardous waste, etc.).
• Maintain dialogue with provincial/national authorities and respond to observations and audits.
• Provide environmental constraints to design and verify compliance in project documentation.
