Job summary

Southbay is seeking a dynamic Backend Developer with strong Python experience to build scalable backend systems and harness AI tools for rapid MVP delivery. You will implement APIs, work with MongoDB/DynamoDB and PostgreSQL/MySQL, and deploy services on AWS.

Qualifications

• More than 4 years of Python development experience.
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB or DynamoDB).
• Strong relational DB skills (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• API integrations using REST and/or GraphQL.
• Excellent English communication (Advanced/Bilingual).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs for core application.
• Integrate third-party services via REST and GraphQL.
• Work with NoSQL and relational databases for data modeling and queries.
• Collaborate on deploying services to AWS (Lambda, API Gateway).
• Suggest AI-based tooling to speed MVPs and development.
• Propose pragmatic backend improvements to architecture and pipelines.
