Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a hands-on Lead Cloud Engineer to guide discovery, define target-state architecture, and lead lift-and-shift migrations to AWS and Kubernetes-based platforms. You will shape designs, plans, and execution with engineering and architecture peers.

The role emphasizes leadership in architecture decisions, strong Terraform/Ansible usage, and building CI/CD pipelines, with extensive collaboration across global teams and vendors. Excellent English is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cloud development experience with AWS and migration programs.
• 1+ year of leadership guiding architecture decisions and mentoring engineers.
• Strong discovery and workshop facilitation for requirements gathering.
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform for provisioning and change management.
• Configuration management with Ansible for repeatable environments.
• Containerization skills for packaging applications and supporting Kubernetes.
• DevOps focus with CI/CD pipeline design and delivery workflows.
• Strong communication to explain trade-offs to clients and teams.
• Advanced English proficiency for workshops and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery of workloads and assess legacy environments.
• Define target-state architecture for AWS and landing zones.
• Outline Kubernetes and EKS requirements and configs.
• Run workshops with clients and architects to align on approach.
• Create migration and test plans for lift-and-shift delivery.
• Oversee migration execution and unblock engineers.
• Build containerization strategies and container-ready applications.
• Design CI/CD pipelines for repeatable builds and deployments.
• Provision infrastructure with Terraform to meet target state.
• Serve as hands-on SME for cloud and DevOps tasks.
