Job summary
Evox is seeking a Senior/Lead DevOps Engineer to deploy and operationalize a Kubernetes-based cloud environment on AWS for a short-term project. You will drive secure, reliable infrastructure and collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage workloads and pipelines.
The role requires extensive Kubernetes experience, AWS proficiency, and strong scripting skills. Flexible work options are available, including remote and office-based arrangements.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in DevOps/SRE/Platform/Cloud Engineering.
- 4+ years Kubernetes in production.
- Experience deploying AWS-hosted apps.
- Leadership with minimal supervision.
- Strong troubleshooting and RCA skills.
- Kubernetes, EKS, Helm experience.
- Argo CD & Service Mesh experience.
- Ingress controllers, networking, storage, cluster ops/upgrades.
- AWS services: VPC, EC2, EKS, IAM, Route 53, ALB/NLB, RDS, CloudWatch, S3, Secrets Manager, Systems Manager Parameter Store.
- GitLab & GitOps, IaC, Terraform.
- Bash, Python, or Go.
Responsibilities
- Lead deployment of a new cloud environment on AWS or another provider.
- Ensure deployments follow security, reliability, and operational best practices.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and ops teams.
- Deploy and manage workloads on Kubernetes platforms.
- Troubleshoot cluster, networking, ingress, storage, and workloads.
- Support modernization and containerization efforts.
- Implement platform standards and guardrails.
- Design and enhance GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement deployment automation and release workflows.
- Establish GitOps deployment patterns with Argo CD.
- Improve traceability and deployment reliability.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure with Terraform.
- Reduce manual deployment via automation.

MUST HAVES

- Demonstrated experience deploying and operating AWS-hosted applications.
- Experience leading technical implementation efforts with minimal supervision.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes, EKS, and Helm.
- Strong experience with Argo CD and Service Mesh technologies.
- Strong experience with ingress controllers, container networking, storage and persistence, and cluster operations and upgrades.
- Strong experience with AWS services, including VPC, EC2, EKS, IAM, Route 53, ALB/NLB, RDS, CloudWatch, S3, Secrets Manager, and Systems Manager Parameter Store.
- Experience with GitLab, GitLab CI/CD, GitOps workflows, Infrastructure as Code, and Terraform.

- Experience with Backstage, Internal Developer Platforms, Self-Service Infrastructure, Golden Path Engineering, and Environment Automation.
- Experience with Robin Cloud Native Platform (Rakuten Symphony Robin).
- Experience migrating applications from on-premises environments to cloud-hosted Kubernetes.
- Experience supporting healthcare, medical device, HIPAA, or regulated environments.
- Experience integrating acquired company technology stacks into enterprise cloud platforms.
