Werben HR is seeking a senior AI Engineer to design and ship production-grade AI solutions, including AI agents, web scraping, and vector-based retrieval architectures. The role is hands-on, collaborating closely with backend and data teams to translate business problems into scalable AI-driven solutions.

You will work with frameworks like LangChain and various Generative AI APIs, building scalable systems and integrated pipelines, while optimizing for performance, reliability, and cost

Formación

• Experience designing and deploying AI-powered systems in production.
• Strong backend JavaScript/Node.js experience.
• Hands-on with Generative AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.).

Role Mission We are looking for a senior AI Engineer to design and build production-grade AI solutions, including AI agents, scraping systems, and vector-based retrieval architectures.This role is hands-on and focused on shipping real AI systems, not research or experiments.You will work closely with backend and data teams to turn business problems into scalableAI-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered systems, including:
• AI agents for automation and decision workflows
• Web scraping bots for structured and unstructured data collection
• Systems using vector databases for semantic search and RAG pipelines
• Build applications using Generative AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
• Integrate AI components into existing platforms and services
• Design and implement scalable, secure APIs for AI solutions
• Optimize solutions for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
• Use frameworks such as LangChain, or similar to orchestrate intelligent workflows
• Collaborate with backend and data engineers on pipelines, storage, and infrastructure
• Stay current with AI advancements and proactively propose improvements or new use cases

Required Skills & Experience

Core Technical Skills

• Strong programming experience in JavaScript/Node.js backend
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
• Experience working with MongoDB
• Experience building systems with vector databases and similarity search, includingPostgreSQL + pgvector, or dedicated solutions
• Practical experience designing and implementing RAG pipelines
• Experience building and automating web scraping bots
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Experience building APIs and microservices
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployments (Kubernetes is a plus)

AI / ML Knowledge

• Strong understanding of embeddings, tokenization, and semantic search
• Strong experience in prompt engineering
• Experience applying pre-trained models for text generation, summarization, and search
• Practical (not academic) understanding of LLM limitations, trade-offs, and costs

Problem-Solving & Communication

• Ability to translate business requirements into AI-driven technical solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Comfortable collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Passion for building useful, reliable AI systems in production
