PowDevs is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our Agile software development team and help advance our core payment processing platform. You will break down business requirements into test cases and execute tests across GUI, API, and backend layers, enabling rapid product readiness.

You will collaborate with developers, SDETs, and architects to prioritize testing, contributing to quality metrics and coverage while adapting to evolving cloud-based environments.

Formación

• Strong QA fundamentals including requirements analysis, test planning, and risk-based testing.
• Hands-on testing beyond GUI: API and database testing experience.
• Experience debugging with logs using Splunk or similar tools.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud environments and CI/CD concepts.
• Clear reproduction steps for defects and strong root-cause investigation skills.
• Experience with GitHub or similar source-control systems.
• Excellent written communication and collaboration across QA, development, and architecture teams.
• Ability to thrive in Agile environments and adapt quickly.
• Experience using AI tools to support testing workflows.

We are growing and looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to be part of our Agile and growing software development team in expanding our core payment processing platform and products within the Payments industry. As part of a small team, you will be responsible for maintaining and running manual test cases and have an immediate and measurable impact on our fast-growing business by helping us reach the next level and stage of growth.

The primary function of the Quality Engineer is to break down business requirements into test cases and perform these tests as necessary. The company includes several Systems Under Test and the products may change quickly so the ability to pivot is essential.

Responsabilities

• Analyze business requirements and create comprehensive test cases, plans, and suites.
• Perform testing across GUI, API, and backend/database layers and evaluate product readiness for production.
• Identify, document, and troubleshoot defects using logs, Splunk, databases, and other diagnostic tools.
• Collaborate with developers, SDETs, and Architects to prioritize testing and resolve issues efficiently.
• Support quality metrics and continuously improve testing practices and coverage.
• Work across cloud environments, particularly AWS, and adapt quickly as products and systems evolve.
• Leverage modern tools, including AI, to improve testing and troubleshooting workflows.

Must-Have

• Strong QA fundamentals, including requirements analysis, test planning, test case design, traceability, and risk-based testing
• Hands-on experience with manual testing beyond the GUI, including API and database testing
• Experience troubleshooting applications using Splunk or similar logging/monitoring tools
• Experience working with AWS or other cloud environments
• Strong defect reporting and root-cause investigation skills, including clear reproduction steps
• Experience working with GitHub or similar development/source-control tools
• Strong written communication and ability to collaborate across QA, development, and architecture teams
• Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively in Agile environments
• Experience using AI tools to support testing, troubleshooting, or QA workflows

Nice to have

• Payment processing and ACH standards background strongly preferred
• Familiarity with NACHAFintech experience
• Familiarity with PCI compliance
• Experience with continuous integration and automated build tools such as Jenkins
• Experience with virtualization

• Scripting experience (Bash, Zsh, PowerShell)
