We're looking for an experienced Kong Administrator cum Developer to design, develop, and implement secure and scalable API solutions using Kong API Gateway. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering and product teams to ensure top-notch API performance and governance.
- Design, configure, and develop Kong entities (services, routes, plugins, caching, etc.)
- Create and maintain custom Lua scripts for advanced use cases
- Manage API security – authentication, authorization, rate limiting
- Implement traffic management features like load balancing & caching
- Automate Kong configurations in a DevOps pipeline
- Monitor, debug, and optimize Kong performance
- Manage Kong Developer Portal and API documentation
- Develop & customize Kong plugins for business needs
- Apply RBAC and ensure secure API endpoint management
- Bachelor's in Computer Science / IT / related field
- Proven experience as Kong Administrator & Developer
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, OpenAPI, microservices
- Proficient in Lua / Python scripting
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Kong Ingress
- Familiar with AWS / Azure / GCP environments
- Hands‑on with OAuth, OIDC, Auth0, and API testing tools (Postman, JMeter, Insomnia)
