Year 6 Class Teacher and Year Group Leader – August 2025 Start

We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Year 6 Class Teacher and Year Group Leader to join our Upper Key Stage 2 team from August 2025. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver consistently high-quality teaching aligned with the National Curriculum for England
  • Lead the Year 6 team in planning, assessment, moderation, and curriculum delivery
  • Use data and assessment tools effectively to drive progress and improve outcomes
  • Support and mentor teachers within the year group, fostering a collaborative and reflective team culture
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all pupils
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, building strong partnerships
  • Contribute to whole-school initiatives and support the senior leadership team
  • Ensure consistency and excellence in teaching and learning across the year group
  • Support behaviour for learning and wellbeing strategies aligned with school policy

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.) or PGCE with QTS
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching in a primary setting (UK curriculum preferred)
  • Previous experience in a middle leadership role or readiness to step into leadership
  • In-depth knowledge of the National Curriculum for England and sound pedagogical practice
  • Proven impact on pupil progress and achievement
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • ADEK approval or eligibility is an advantage
