Workshop Technician - ASE Shop

Overview

Assist the ASE (Aircraft Survivability Equipment) Supervisor in performing aviation unit and intermediate maintenance inspections, services, and repairs on all ASE systems on the aircraft (EW).

Responsibilities include:

  1. Repair, replace, and perform operational/functional tests on ASE equipment, antennas, RF receivers, UV/IR sensors, laser sensors, EW controllers, displays, chaff and flares LRUs.
  2. Troubleshoot equipment and trace ASE wiring harnesses using technical manuals and schematic drawings to diagnose and isolate faults and effect repairs.
  3. Diagnose malfunctions using hand tools, test measurement, and diagnostic equipment.
  4. Requisition aircraft parts and maintain shop and bench stock for ASE equipment repair.
  5. Inspect and prepare forms and records in accordance with DA PAM 738-751.
  6. Train host national personnel on proper ASE system maintenance.
  7. Manage tools and equipment inventory assigned by the supervisor.
