Job description

A Workshop Technician will be responsible for carrying out maintenance and calibration tasks as required on aircraft components, tools, and equipment in accordance with company procedures and regulations. The job holder works as part of a team under the guidance of the assigned supervisor or engineer within the appropriate trade or cross-trade disciplines for which they have been trained.

In this role, you will:
  1. Carry out routine component and tools servicing, calibration, maintenance, modification, and approved repairs compliant with manufacturer procedures while observing all safety protocols.
  2. Complete maintenance tasks on components and tools as assigned by supervisors or engineers, including understanding and utilizing documentation such as Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC), Component Maintenance Manual (CMM), Standard Practice Manual (SPM), and Quality Manual ISO/IEC 17025.
  3. Assist supervisors and engineers in troubleshooting, defect rectification, and modifications as per instructions on job cards.
  4. Maintain cleanliness and excellent housekeeping at all work locations, promote safety culture, and communicate safety concerns. Ensure work areas, including the ramp, vehicles, stands, lockers, and toolboxes, are free of FOD and regularly audited.
  5. Attend promptly to all assigned tasks to reduce turnaround time and operational delays. Communicate any aircraft or component defects to relevant personnel and ensure clear handovers.
  6. Perform testing, verification, servicing, and support for overhaul, repair, refurbishment, inspection, and calibration tasks as per workshop procedures.
  7. Participate in the Rapid Response Unit (RRU) or AOG team during aircraft incidents and recoveries.
