Job Purpose

To supervise and coordinate workshop operations with a specific focus on classic and vintage cars refurbishment. The role ensures efficient execution of mechanical, electrical, and aesthetic restoration works while maintaining the highest standards of quality, authenticity, and customer satisfaction.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

Functional Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Oversee day-to-day operations of the classic car refurbishment section, including repair, restoration, and certification activities.
  2. Ensure workshop procedures are followed precisely, particularly for vintage vehicles where authenticity and accuracy are critical.
  3. Assist in developing and monitoring the monthly work schedule and budget for the area of responsibility, and initiate corrective actions to ensure operations stay within financial parameters.
  4. Maintain electronic documentation of each restoration project, including historical data, repair records, and photographic evidence.
  5. Liaise with OEM Classic & Heritage departments.
  6. Stay updated on international best practices in classic car restorations.
  7. Review and optimize workshop structure, workflows, and job responsibilities with the Workshop Manager to ensure efficiency. Ensure smooth parts supply; recommend parts cannibalization when necessary based on urgency.
  8. Support maintenance of tools and equipment to ensure safety and cost-efficiency.
  9. Supervise mechanics to ensure adherence to workshop processes, quality standards, profit margins, and customer satisfaction.
  10. Provide product quality feedback to Technical Support for reporting to principals.
  11. Advise team leaders and technicians on productivity improvements and warranty policy implementation.
  12. Ensure workshop equipment is properly maintained and periodically serviced.
  13. Maintain a repeat job register, analyze trends, and implement corrective measures.
  14. Organize annual leave plans for workshop staff and arrange replacements as needed.
  15. Recommend adjustments to standard labor times and recovery charges to higher management.

People Management Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Lead a team of technicians specialized in classic vehicle mechanics, ensuring work aligns with heritage quality standards.
  2. Monitor performance, productivity, and quality of work; provide coaching as needed.
  3. Implement skill development plans to enhance team knowledge on classic models, tools, and techniques.
