JOB PURPOSE
Oversee and monitor activities of the workshop technical team to ensure vehicle is repaired in accordance to established quality and safety standards and within set time frames. Assist the team in diagnosis and related repair operations, provide guidance and recommend training as needed. Ensure repair costs are kept to minimum and appropriate documentation is available for all repair work.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key Accountabilities (Up To Max. 6)
- Operations: Effectively plan, allocate and supervise jobs and tasks in coordination with the team leader on daily basis to ensure vehicle diagnosis is carried out. Check job card to identify cars that need to be driven and those that need to be tested technically.
- Process Management: Promptly check relevant documentation supporting Job cards and warranty claims to ensure operations are carried out as per set efficiency, utilization and labor hour targets. Provide active support to technicians to ensure urgent jobs get done within tight deadlines. Prioritize cars that need to be returned in a day. Prepare and conduct every vehicle for a final check and further quality control audit to share the result with the team leader & Line manager.
- Parts Requisition: Prepare service repair Pro-forma, estimate technician hours and coordinate with the service advisor and submit the estimate to the team leader to ensure the required parts and labor lines are in compliance with manufacture guidelines and contend to required repairs.
- Safety: Observe and oversee safety rules defined for the equipment, instruments and products. Apply the manufacturer's directives and the safety rules to avoid any damage to the vehicles or to self. Observe that precautionary measures are being followed to avoid occupational hazards of repair work.
- Team Management: Provide on job training for all subordinates on using equipment and tools to ensure proper preventive maintenance and safe equipment/tools usage on highest efficiency levels. Ensure highest skill, motivation and maximum performance levels of subordinates are maintained at all times.
Job Specific Information
- Foreman will be closely working with line manager and service team to ensure high level of customer satisfaction and optimum utilization of workshop premises.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES
Qualification (e.g. Academic Qualification, Certifications, Licenses)
- Diploma in Automobile, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- UAE Driving License.
Experience
- 5 – 6 years of minimum experience in repair work & operations within automotive work shop environment.
- 1 year of experience in a supervisory role within premium/luxury heavy vehicle brand.
