Job Description

The Workshop Coordinator is in charge of the daily operations at the workshop, starting from fleet maintenance to employee relations. This is done in coordination with the workshop manager and in line with the organization’s needs to comply with business objectives in the short, medium, and long terms and in accordance with the terms of our various contracts and the Integrated Management System.

1. Ensure all planned preventive maintenance schedules are followed and vehicles booked in timely order.
2. Ensure preventive maintenance and repairs are meeting all quality and safety standards through frequent checks and inspections.
3. Ensure all workshop related assets are properly maintained and are in optimum working condition at all times.
4. In charge of timely recording of all tasks in job cards.
5. Proper delegation of tasks to respective team members based on skill levels and experience.
6. Act as a focal point of communication with colleagues in the operations teams for any type of escalations.
7. In charge of ensuring that proper tools and equipment along with spare parts are available at all times for subordinates to carry out their tasks efficiently and in a safe manner.
8. Perform regular inventory checks on spare parts, tools, and equipment and report the same to workshop manager.
9. Recording subordinates duty times, preparing timesheets, and controlling overtime to be in line with the budget.
10. Regularly review his/her team size to ensure the number of employees matches contracts’ requirements and workload.
11. Support HR in hiring new employees for his/her team by interviewing and assessing candidates.
12. Plan subordinates work schedule and leave/off days to agreed levels to ensure continuity of business, ensure employees take leave in line with UAE labour law and return on time.
13. Diligently perform any other reasonable work or related tasks at the request of his/her line manager.

Qualifications

1. Advanced knowledge of Diesel Engine mechanisms.
2. Valid UAE light manual vehicle driving license is a must.
3. General knowledge of Environmental hazards and HSE principles.
4. Innovative and continual improvement mindset.
5. Effective problem identification and problem solving.
6. Hold a relevant educational qualification from a well-recognized and reputable academic institution fit for the required job function.

Additional Information

1. At least 5 years of proven experience in the same field with at least 3 years in supervisory level. Experience in the waste management or oil and gas industry is an advantage.
